Modula Next – Controlled, Precise Automated Storage

Modula NEXT is our new-generation lift module, providing the highest level of safety and control for automated picking in the warehouse. Taking the efficiency of a traditional vertical lift system and adding a level of control you’d normally only see in a vending machine.
When an item is requested, the system retrieves the correct tray and presents it at an ergonomic picking bay – but instead of exposing the entire tray, it opens access to just one specific compartment.

This controlled access significantly reduces picking errors, particularly when dealing with similar or high-value items, while also improving security by preventing unauthorised access, damage, or misplaced stock.

Designed for environments where accuracy matters, Modula Next is well-suited to industries such as medical, electronics, defence, jewellery and high-value parts storage. It’s a smart step forward!

Modula Next Smart Software

Modula Next combines vertical lift storage with a controlled-access system inspired by vending machines, giving you complete accuracy at the point of pick. Each tray is automatically delivered to the operator, but access is restricted to a single compartment, ensuring only the correct item can be selected.

All products can be loaded into the system in a single process, with Modula’s warehouse management software (Modula WMS) assigning each item to a specific location. From there, the software continuously tracks usage patterns and automatically optimises tray positioning, bringing frequently picked items closer to the access point to improve speed and efficiency over time.

This approach not only improves picking performance but also maintains full visibility of stock, with every movement tracked and recorded in real time. Items remain secure within the system, reducing the risk of loss, damage, or unauthorised access.
