BackgroundEarnhardt Lexus, an Arizona dealership, recently built a new facility and needed a solution for their auto parts storage department.

Auto dealer Earnhardt Lexus was looking for an optimal auto parts storage solution for its new store location. The department manager had previously used other brands of containers but found them to be unsatisfactory because all the parts were stored together. Modula VLM provided the sorted storage they were looking for with over 1,000 SKUs of parts, while also saving space and creating a safer, more reliable work environment.Pain PointsEarnhardt Lexus built a new car dealership. The current traditional racking system storage and picking effect is not ideal. They hope to make full use of the vertical space of the new building while simplifying the process of picking parts for operators, improving efficiency and enhancing safety.Solution

Earnhardt Lexus purchased a Modula VLM (MC50D) to store frequently used parts. It is only 3 meters away from the parts counter, and employees only need to walk a short distance to pick up more than a third of the parts easily.

Payne, Parts Manager of Lexus, appreciates the flexibility of Modula and its options, which allow dealers to adjust the storage and separation of parts according to different needs. The safety system can prevent the operator from mishandling and accidental injury and ensure the safety of the items in the VLMs.

Modula can also be integrated with the company’s CDK system to provide real-time inventory control and allow operators to generate counter tickets or pick tickets as needed.

“I think that it’s a great product, and I think it’s very easy to use, and it’s an asset to our organisation,” said Payne, Parts Manager of Lexus.
